Groundworks Northampton

A nine month contract for groundworks Northampton to complete groundworks for the Campanile Hotel chainĀ in Northampton. Prestige was responsible for substructure, suspended floors, drainage and external works.

Substructure: 160 concrete piles (auger driven) were broken down by mechanical means to support a concrete reinforced beam with formwork either side.

Drainage: 600m of Naylor Densleve Clay drainage; 24 concrete manholes to 4785mm depth; Condor CNSB4 liquid separator; ACO channels with 15 road gulleys; back drops and connection to Local Authority sewers via core drilling in confined spaces.

Suspended floors: Reinforced insitu concrete to both first and second floors. 193 Mesh with 8mm diameter bar was laid on the crickley tin ceiling. 225mm of RC35 concrete vibrated with a tamp finish. Saxon paving by Marshalls was laid to the front lobby area.

Externals: A 300mm bed of MOT type 1 was compacted and edged in 125 x 255 PC concrete kerbs to accept tarmac and block paving. Anti root migration barriers were installed, with top soil to the landscaped areas.
